About

A Charleston publishing desk for people who still read.

Kipps Brighton is an independent field journal published by Kipps Brighton Media LLC. We cover coastal routes and practical travel methods with long-form reporting, clear sourcing, and no disguised sales copy.

What we publish

Two standing sections. Coast is for routes that follow water — marsh roads, local trains, peninsula loops — with enough detail to plan from. Practice is for reusable methods: how to pace a trip, how to stay put, how to keep ordinary weather from rewriting the weekend.

We are a publishing and web-media outlet, not a booking agency. We do not sell tours, hotel packages, or insurance. When commercial tools appear on the site, they are disclosed on our Editorial Policy & Disclosure page.

Where we work

The newsroom is in Charleston, South Carolina. The Lowcountry is both our home geography and a regular reporting beat — which is why the current cover story walks the Sea Islands from Edisto to Hunting Island with public parks, Gullah Geechee institutions, and tide-aware logistics in view.
